The Municipal Strategies Contest 2018 is held within the XVII Strategic Planning Leaders Forum. This year the contest is open to municipalities with a population of up to 300 thousand people.

On September 5, the Organizing Committee meeting of the contest was held in Moscow, attended by strategic planning experts: E.Sh. Gontmakher, A.N. Didenko, V.V. Zubarev, V.V. Klimanov, A.N. Maksimov, A.S. Puzanov and others.

The Organizing Committee approved semifinalists, the contest programme and the jury.

28 applications from 20 regions of Russia submitted for the contest. The Organizing Committee also allowed Yakutsk with a population of 328 thousand people to join the contest. All contestants are divided into three groups: municipalities with a population of less than 50 thousand people, from 50 to 120 thousand people and from 170 to 300 thousand people. Finalists in each group will be decided according to the results of the semifinals to be held on September 25 at the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation.

The semifinals programme, a list of participants and presentations will be published on September 7 on the websites of the Strategic Planning Leaders Forum and the contest Organizers.

The finals and MSC-2018 Awards Ceremony will take place in St. Petersburg within the Strategic Planning Leaders Forum on October 22, 2018.​
