[2018-10-04] / Not Only the Russian Experience: Strategic Planning Leaders Forum Promotes International Cooperation

Permanent Forum participants appreciate the opportunity to share experiences with experts from different countries and regions of the world. Therefore, international cooperation is one of the “traditional” cross-cutting topics of the Strategic Planning Leaders Forum. There is even a special thematic line called “International cooperation for regional development”. Last year, about 80 foreign participants and representatives of international organizations took part in the Forum.

The upcoming Forum is going to be attended by over 50 foreign experts from 17 countries – Great Britain, China, Austria, Greece, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Malaysia, Norway, USA, Japan et al. Foreign experts will be speakers at 10 Forum events.

The international programme will be opened by the President of the European Committee of the Regions Karl-Heinz Lambertz at the plenary session. He will also participate in the round table “International Cooperation for Regional Development”, during which the challenges of improving the quality of living environment, developing tourism with the European migrant crisis in mind, and ecological urbanism are going to be discussed. The list of round table speakers includes Martin Guillermo Ramirez, Secretary General, Association of European Border Regions; Maguelonne Dejeant-Pons, Executive Secretary, European Landscape Convention of the Council of Europe; Florian Shmid, President, GFGZ; Luc-Emil Bouche-Florin, Honorary President, European Council of Spatial Planners.
