Summary
In recent decades, the global economy is developing faster than ever before. In the age of innovative economy, big cities have become centers of territorial development and growth points. While uniting people and resources, cities boost social, cultural, ecological, economic and innovative development of states and show the greatest economic growth. Russian cities, formed as a part of accelerated urbanization within a period of rapid industrialization in the country, now have to adapt to a new economy and modern digital technologies and develop strategies for sustainable development.
Issues to be discussed:
- technologies in cities;
- general plan or master plan?
- city strategies constructor: do cities need generic solutions?
- cities in the era of globalization: does a city need a state?
