The maritime economy is becoming increasingly important. The European Commission actively
promotes the “Blue Growth” concept that includes different aspects of the harmonious development of
coastal regions using the potential of the maritime economy — marine bio-resources, tourism,
transport, etc. The maritime cooperation will become a new strategic area of cross-border and regional
cooperation programs in Europe for the upcoming period of 2021-2027.
The goal of the discussion is to promote shaping/updating Russia’s proactive position on the
maritime economy issues on the basis of the international experience.
